Job summary

Teach South is seeking an experienced Maths Teacher for a full-time maternity cover in Tonbridge, Kent, starting October 2026. The role involves delivering Maths teaching through to GCSE, planning engaging lessons, and supporting students to achieve strong outcomes within an established Maths department.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS or UK-recognised teaching experience, have a strong background in secondary Maths, and be able to maintain high expectations and effective classroom management

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised UK teaching experience.
• Strong subject knowledge in secondary Maths.
• Ability to deliver lessons through to GCSE level.

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging, well-structured Maths lessons.
• Deliver high-quality lessons up to GCSE level.
• Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback.
• Support students to develop confidence and achieve strong outcomes.
• Maintain high behaviour and effort standards.
• Collaborate with Maths department colleagues.

We are working with a secondary school in Tonbridge who are looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher who enjoys teaching Maths through to GCSE level and wants to join a school where they can make a real impact in the classroom.
The school is looking for someone who can step confidently into the role, deliver high-quality lessons and build strong relationships with students. You will be joining an established Maths team and will be supported throughout the placement.

• Full-time Maths teaching position
• Maternity cover starting in October 2026
