Cover People are recruiting a Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Bury, Greater Manchester, for a January 2027 start. This role is suitable for an experienced Maths Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a full-time position.

Qualifications

Cover People are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Bury, Greater Manchester, starting in January 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maths Teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for a full-time teaching position within a supportive secondary school environment.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and purposeful Maths lessons, helping pupils develop their numerical skills, mathematical understanding and problem-solving abilities while making a positive impact on their academic progress.

This role would suit a passionate Maths specialist who is confident delivering the secondary Maths curriculum, building positive relationships with pupils and creating a positive and purposeful learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Maths lessons across the secondary age range.

• Prepare pupils for assessments and examinations where appropriate.
• Identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback to support progress.
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence and a positive attitude towards Maths.
• Contribute to the wider Maths department and school community.
• Support the academic and personal development of all learners.

Requirements

• QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge across the secondary Maths curriculum.
• Experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
• Confidence delivering engaging lessons that support pupils of varying abilities.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A passion for Maths, teaching and pupil progress.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• The right to work in the UK.
