Job summary

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting a Maths Teacher to cover a range of bookings in Birmingham and surrounding areas. This role includes daily supply, short-term and long-term opportunities across secondary schools.

The position is temporary with full-time hours from 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday during term time. Successful applicants will have strong maths knowledge, classroom management skills, and a flexible, professional approach.

Qualifications

• QTS is desirable for qualified teaching positions.
• A degree in Mathematics or a related subject is desirable.
• Previous experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting is highly desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons across different abilities and key stages.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A flexible, reliable and professional approach to teaching.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training is required; training can be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across a range of year groups and abilities.
• Prepare lesson materials and resources that support effective teaching and learning.
• Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to support development.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning styles.
• Encourage student participation, confidence and achievement in Mathematics.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to support students' academic progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and follow school policies and procedures.

• Minimum Rate of Pay: Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications
• Hours: 8:30am 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Experience, Training and Qualifications
