Job summary

Warrington & Vale Royal College is seeking an enthusiastic Maths Skills Build Specialist Teacher to join our supportive team. You will work with colleagues in a department that values creativity, collaboration and high expectations, helping learners build numeracy, resilience and confidence while studying GCSE or Functional Skill maths.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills maths.
  • Ability to plan lessons and differentiate for diverse learners.
  • Strong numeracy and communication skills.

Job description

Warrington & Vale Royal College are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Maths Skills Build Specialist Teacher to join our highly supportive and driven team. The successful candidate will join other specialist teachers, within a department that values creativity, collaboration and high expectations. This is an exciting opportunity which will help students to develop their numeracy, resilience and confidence whilst studying GCSE or Functional Skill maths.

The Maths Skills Build Specialist Teacher should be dedicated to supporting student’s needs and their journey of progression. They should have ambition and vision for this newly created post whilst contributing to the ongoing development of our curriculum structure, teaching strategies and learner experience.

The successful candidate will:
  • Inspire and motivate learners to achieve their full potential and progress confidently into further study or employment
  • Use innovative and adaptive teaching strategies to support progress, retention and achievement
  • On occasions deliver high-quality maths sessions through flexible teaching
  • Contribute to the development of an ambitious and responsive Maths curriculum
  • Support the continued growth and development of adult provision within the department
  • Work collaboratively within a forward-thinking department committed to continuous improvement
  • Promote the college ethos of inclusivity, aspiration, respect and learner success
