Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a committed Maths SEN Teacher for a specialist provision in Ealing, supporting KS3-4 students with SEND. You will deliver engaging, differentiated maths lessons, promoting confidence and progress in a nurturing environment.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, full-time. The ideal candidate has QTS and experience in SEN settings, with strong classroom management and collaboration with TAs, SENCOs, and therapists.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching maths within SEN or inclusive education settings.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated maths lessons tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
  • Support students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure accessibility and student engagement.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress in maths and provide feedback to parents and staff.
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Apply behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and learning behaviours.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
  • Encourage student confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support students in preparing for assessments, functional skills, or GCSEs where appropriate.
  • Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing policies are followed.

Job description

We are seeking a committed and experienced Maths SEN Teacher (Key Stage 3-4) to join a specialist provision in Ealing supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons while promoting student confidence, independence, and academic progress within a supportive learning environment.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm Full-Time

Maths SEN Teacher- Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated maths lessons tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
  • Support students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure accessibility and student engagement.

Maths SEN Teacher- Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching maths within SEN or inclusive education settings.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and SEND strategies.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with additional learning needs.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Maths SEN Teacher- Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience teaching Functional Skills or GCSE Maths.
  • Knowledge of autism-friendly and trauma-informed teaching approaches.
  • SEN specialism or additional SEND qualifications/training.
  • Team Teach, Makaton, or de-escalation training.
