Job summary

Warwick College Group is seeking a Lecturer in Maths for Supported Learning to teach Basic Skills, Entry Level and Level One Functional Skills Maths to students, including those with an EHC plan requiring extra support.

The role involves developing teaching materials, planning and assessment, and ensuring quality standards and safeguarding compliance across the college. The post is pro rata and requires DBS checks and pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• A degree in Maths or related disciplines such as Engineering.
• GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in Maths and English.
• A nationally recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or DET or a willingness to complete one.
• A willingness to undertake continuing professional development.
• There is a requirement for Lecturers to maintain CPD and update industry skills annually.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Basic Skills, Entry Level and Level One Functional Skills Maths to students with EHC plans and extra support.
• Develop and produce teaching materials and relevant planning/assessment paperwork.
• Undertake administrative tasks related to the programme under the Head of School.
• Engage in Internal Verification as required and participate in lesson observations.
• Ensure a safe working environment in line with HASAW Act and Health & Safety Policy.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and at‑risk adults.

Education

Bachelor degree in Maths or related discipline

GCSE Maths (A-C)

Teaching qualification (PGCE/DET)

Willingness to undertake CPD
