Job summary

Randstad Education in the Southend-on-Sea area is seeking a Class Teacher with Maths Lead responsibilities for a specialist independent provision for boys 13-18 with SEMH/SEND. You will lead GCSE/Functional Skills pathways, deliver differentiated maths teaching, and contribute to a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach.

The role requires QTS/QTLS and a proven track record in SEMH settings, with an Enhanced DBS Update Service.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent with eligibility to teach in England.
• Strong Maths subject knowledge across KS3/KS4 and ability to lead curriculum pathways.
• Experience teaching SEMH/SEND and working with EHCPs.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service covering Child & Adult Workforce.
• Commitment to safeguarding and recent safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Lead, evaluate, and develop a multi-sensory Maths curriculum across KS3, KS4 and post-16.
• Deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons alongside the secondary curriculum.
• Build trauma-informed relationships to create a calm, emotionally safe classroom.
• Contribute high-quality reports for annual reviews and PEPs.
• Support pupils' pastoral care, wellbeing and individual plans.
