Main Purpose of the Role:

1. To lead Maths at KS3, ensuring sufficient forward planning, and that schemes of learning and resources are completed to deadlines and meet the requirements.
2. To lead on the design, development, and review of the KS3 Maths schemes of learning, lesson plans, and resources, ensuring adequate challenge.
3. To design and administer a planned schedule of assessment for the KS3 Maths courses.
4. To establish routines and systems that enable students to organise and formally record their learning to aid revision.
5. To maintain expert knowledge of teaching and learning at KS3, keeping abreast of the latest research and publications, attending courses, and sharing best practices within the department.
6. To monitor and evaluate teaching and learning within KS3 Maths.
7. To support or coach less experienced team members to develop effective teaching practices at KS3.
8. To research, amend, and administer appropriate assessments for all KS3 Maths courses.
9. To monitor data at KS3, identify students needing support, and manage interventions.
