Job description

Job Title: Teacher of Maths (Potential KS3 Coordinator TLR)

Salary: Up to UPS3 (TLR2a) - potential R+R for the right candidate

Start Date: September 2025 (full-time, permanent)

School: Good Ofsted 11-18 secondary school with a strong SLT team, excellent behaviour, good facilities, and ample progression opportunities.

Main Purpose of the Role:

1. Lead Maths at KS3, ensuring forward planning, timely completion of schemes of learning, and resource development to meet curriculum requirements.
2. Design, develop, and review KS3 Maths schemes of learning, lesson plans, and resources to ensure sufficient challenge for students.
3. Develop and administer a structured assessment schedule for KS3 Maths courses.
4. Establish routines and systems to help students organize and record their learning, supporting effective revision.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of teaching and learning strategies at KS3, attend relevant courses, and share best practices with department members.
6. Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within KS3 Maths, providing support and coaching to less experienced team members.
7. Research, adapt, and administer appropriate assessments for all KS3 Maths courses.
8. Track and analyze data to identify students needing support and manage intervention strategies.
