Job description

JD - Teacher of Maths, with potential for KS3 Coordinator TLR.

Salary: up to UPS3 (TLR2a) - potential for R+R for the right candidate

Start date: September 2025 (full-time, permanent)

School: Good Ofsted 11-18 secondary school. Strong SLT team, great behaviour, good facilities, and plenty of progression opportunities.

Main Purpose of the Role:
  1. Lead Maths at KS3, ensuring sufficient forward planning, timely completion of schemes of learning and resources, meeting the requirements.
  2. Design, develop, and review KS3 Maths schemes of learning, lesson plans, and resources, ensuring appropriate challenge.
  3. Design and administer a structured assessment schedule for KS3 Maths courses.
  4. Establish routines and systems for students to organise and record their learning to support revision.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of teaching and learning at KS3, attending courses, disseminating best practices, and staying informed of latest research.
  6. Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning within KS3 Maths; support or coach less experienced team members to enhance teaching practices.
  7. Research, adapt, and implement suitable assessments for all KS3 Maths courses.
  8. Monitor data at KS3 to identify students needing support and manage interventions effectively.
