Job summary

City of Peterborough Academy is seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Learning Assistant (Maths) to join our Mathematics department. You will work with teaching staff to deliver intervention, plan activities and support student attainment.

You will support learners across Key Stages, including those with SEND and EAL, promote positive behaviour and contribute to enrichment and wider school life. Commitment to safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and engage pupils.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching and learning of Mathematics across Key Stages.
• Deliver small group and one-to-one intervention programmes to raise attainment.
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under direction of teaching staff.
• Monitor, assess and record student progress with feedback to teachers.
• Support students with SEND, EAL and disadvantaged learners.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Assist in preparing learning resources and maintaining an effective learning environment.
• Provide classroom cover for planned teacher absence where appropriate.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and enrichment activities.
