OFG Education, at Abbey Gardens School in Bury St Edmunds, is seeking a Maths Instructor to inspire and support students who benefit from a more personalised approach to education. Working with small classes and a dedicated specialist team, you’ll help students develop essential mathematical skills, gain qualifications, and build the confidence to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong Maths knowledge who enjoys helping others learn.

Qualifications

• Strong maths knowledge and passion for the subject.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or training others.
• Ability to explain concepts in engaging ways.
• Patience, resilience and a positive approach to challenges.
• Confidence to motivate and encourage young people.
• Interest in SEND, specialist education or alternative provision.
• Commitment to helping students succeed academically and personally.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and accessible maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Inspire students to develop confidence and enjoyment in maths.
• Support learners working towards Entry Level, Functional Skills and GCSEs.
• Adapt learning to meet individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
• Monitor progress, celebrate achievements and encourage growth.
• Build positive relationships to re-engage students with education.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families and external professionals for best outcomes.
