Job summary

Oxted School is seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a maths specialism to support students with SEND and enable full access to the curriculum. This is a full-time, term-time position, working 36 hours per week across 39 weeks per year.

The HLTA will lead Teaching Assistants, deliver targeted interventions, and collaborate with staff to support learning and wellbeing. The successful candidate will uphold safeguarding, comply with GDPR, and contribute to inclusive

Qualifications

Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or equivalent.
HLTA status or relevant Level 2/3 qualifications (e.g., NNEB).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Competence with IT tools and ability to analyse and present data.
Experience working in a similar role within education or SEND environments.
Proven organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

Providing line management for Teaching Assistants.
Planning and delivering lessons to individuals, groups, or whole classes as required.
Monitoring and assessing student progress through data and feedback.
Reporting concerns, incidents, or safeguarding issues in line with policies.
Supporting delivery of curriculum-aligned interventions and activities.
