Job summary

ContinU Plus Academy in Kidderminster seeks a proactive Mathematics Lead to shape the educational and pastoral provision, co-ordinate the maths offer and drive aspirational outcomes. You will lead the department, set expectations for staff and students, report to Governors termly, and design a creative curriculum to meet diverse needs while sustaining high standards.

Qualifications

Experience leading a department or team in an educational setting.
Ability to design and implement a creative maths curriculum for diverse learners.
Proven capability to undertake performance management and mentoring of staff.

Responsibilities

Set expectations and targets for staff and students in relation to standards of student achievement
Report every term to Governors & the Head on key outputs & indicators
Have responsibility for the supervision and direction of teaching and support staff within the maths department
Design a creative curriculum to suit a wide range of needs and abilities whilst offering a broad range of activities
Undertake performance management for the department
Create a climate which enables staff to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards the subject and confidence in teaching it
