Job summary

Overton Grange School is seeking a Head of Maths to plan and deliver high-quality teaching, supporting students to reach their potential. You will lead the Maths department, manage staff, and drive teaching excellence across all Key Stages.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, innovative, and committed to student progress, with KS5 experience and a degree-qualified teaching background. This role reports to the Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications

Qualified teacher educated to degree level.
KS5 teaching experience is required.
A passionate classroom practitioner with strong communication skills.
Innovative, creative, resilient and dynamic; able to demonstrate impact in their current role.

Responsibilities

Teach Maths across all Key Stages and align with examination board specs.
Review and implement schemes of work and resources meeting requirements.
Lead assessment, marking and reporting in line with school policy.
Manage and develop department staff; monitor performance and conduct staff appraisals.
Organise regular department meetings and share best practice.
Manage budget and allocate resources efficiently to minimise waste.
Support school policies and tutor group responsibilities.
Attend meetings and contribute to whole-school improvement.
