Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an experienced Maths Cover Supervisor for a boys’ secondary school in Camden, London. The role focuses on delivering pre-planned maths lessons, supervising classes, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong maths knowledge, excellent classroom management, and the ability to engage students. QTS is desirable, and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) is required. Right to work in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor or similar role.
• Strong Maths knowledge and confidence supporting secondary-aged pupils.
• Experience in a secondary school environment is highly desirable.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate pupils.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Supervising Maths lessons and other lessons when required.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and keeping pupils engaged.
• Supporting pupils with their Maths work and encouraging positive learning habits.
• Maintaining a calm, positive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies.
• Taking accurate registers and reporting issues to staff.
• Supporting pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Ensuring pupils complete the work set by teachers.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
