Explore Learning is seeking tutors to deliver personalised Maths and English sessions at our Whiteley centre. You’ll coach learners aged 4–16, building confidence and curiosity while using Compass to tailor each session and track progress.

You’ll work in a supportive team, with part-time hours and a focus on sustaining long‑term engagement across the academic year. Prior experience with small groups is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK.
• GCSE Maths and English grade 6 or above (predicted accepted).

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored sessions using Compass, with questioning and scaffolding.
• Build meaningful relationships with learners in a 16:1 ratio to create a safe learning environment.
• Support learners across the national curriculum, including 11+ and GCSE content.

Using our smart learning tool, Compass, you’ll deliver tailored sessions where you facilitate learning through questioning, scaffolding and stretching.

Location

This is an on‑site role and you will be based at our Whiteley centre.

Contract

This is a permanent, part time role. You will be contracted to work a minimum of 6 hours a week over at least 2 different weekdays. Our available shift start times are

• 330-4pm Tuesday
• 330-4pm Wednesday
• 330-4pm Thursday
• 330-4pm Friday
• Morning/afternoon Saturday

This is not a summer‑only role; we are seeking dedicated tutors to support our members throughout the next academic year and beyond.

Pay Rates & Progression

Earn more as you progress! You will start on the base rate for your age group, with an annual opportunity to increase your pay based on the number of hours you have tutored for us.

Base Hourly Rate

Under 18 £840

18-20 £10.90

21+ £12.75

• an additional 50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.

Requirements

You must be age 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent (we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months).
