Job summary

Explore Learning in the West Midlands is seeking a Maths and English Tutor to support learners at our Walsall centre on a permanent, part-time basis. You will deliver tailored sessions using Compass, help students build confidence, and track progress toward the national curriculum goals.

You'll work in a small-group 1:6 setting with a flexible schedule (minimum 6 hours per week) and benefit from dedicated development and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Age 16 or over and right to work in the UK.
• GCSE Maths and English grade 6 or above (or predicted).
• Minimum 6 hours per week, across at least 2 weekdays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sessions to learners using Compass, tailored to each child.

The Role

Our tutors act as coaches and mentors, not just instructors, supporting each learner’s progress with care and purpose.

Logistics

Location:This is an on-siteroleand you will be basedatourWalsallcentre.

Contract: This is a permanent, part time role. You will be contracted to work a minimum of 6 hours a week over at least 2 different weekdays. Our available shift start times are:

3:30-4pm Tuesday

3:30-4pm Wednesday

3:30-4pm Thursday

3:30-4pm Friday

Morning/afternoon Saturday

Please note:This is not a summer-only role; we are seeking dedicated tutors to support our members throughout the next academic year and beyond.

Pay Rates & Progression:

Earn more as you progress!You will start on the base rate for your age group, with an annual opportunity to increase your pay based on the number of hours you have tutored for us.

BaseHourly Rate:Under 18: £8:40

18-20: £10.90

21+: £12.75

*anadditional50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.

Requirements:You must be age 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level orequivalent (we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months).
