Te Kura o Mōkihi Spreydon School in Canterbury is seeking an experienced kaiako for a 0.6 FTTE fixed-term position for the 2027 school year. The successful applicant will deliver targeted mathematics instruction to small groups across Years 3–6 and support a structured literacy intervention programme.

The role requires strong maths and English curriculum knowledge, explicit teaching methods, and the ability to collaborate with SENCO and kaiako to accelerate progress and build learner confidence

Formación

• Has strong mathematics and English curriculum knowledge and effective teaching practice.
• Confident teaching mathematics and structured literacy across Year 3–6.
• Understands structured, explicit teaching approaches and how to accelerate student progress.
• Builds positive, supportive relationships with learners to foster confidence in maths and literacy.
• Liaises with SENCO, team leaders and kaiako to meet ākonga needs.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver targeted, explicit mathematics instruction through MAP.
• Support the structured literacy intervention programme.
• Contribute to staff and team meetings and professional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet learners’ needs.
