Job summary

Astrea Academy Woodfields in Doncaster is seeking an ambitious Assistant Principal - Mathematics to lead strategic direction, drive improvements in teaching, and raise attainment across the academy.

You will coach and mentor colleagues, monitor performance data, and contribute to self-evaluation and improvement planning. A proven track record in middle or senior leadership and in mathematics pedagogy is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and governance experience in a school setting.
• Proven record of improving mathematics outcomes.
• Excellent knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment in mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for mathematics across the academy.
• Drive improvements in teaching, learning and achievement within mathematics.
• Lead curriculum development to ensure a challenging, knowledge-rich mathematics offer.
• Monitor and analyse performance data to raise attainment and accelerate progress.
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues to strengthen classroom practice.
• Contribute to academy self-evaluation, improvement planning and quality assurance activities.
• Promote high expectations, excellent behaviour and a culture of academic excellence.
• Work collaboratively with leaders across the academy and Astrea Academy Trust to secure sustained improvement.
