Job summary

Astrea Academy Woodfields is seeking an ambitious Assistant Principal - Science to lead a key curriculum area and raise science standards across the academy. You will shape the science curriculum, drive teaching and learning enhancements and support colleagues through coaching and professional development.

As part of the senior leadership team, you will monitor progress, use data to inform strategies and promote a culture of academic ambition, curiosity and excellence among scholars.

Qualifications

• An outstanding science teacher with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes.
• Successful experience in middle or senior leadership within a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of science curriculum development, assessment and pedagogy.
• The ability to inspire and develop colleagues to continually improve their practice.
• Experience of using data effectively to evaluate performance and drive improvement.
• A commitment to evidence-informed practice and educational excellence.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
