Job summary

The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Midwifery Sister to coordinate our Maternity Triage service, providing clinical and professional leadership. You will lead day-to-day management of the triage, ensuring safe, responsive and equitable care for women and birthing people accessing urgent maternity care.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of training and competence in maternity triage assessment and escalation.
• Evidence of leadership development.
• Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor qualification (or willingness to undertake).
• Desirable: Leadership/Management qualification or QI experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, operational and professional leadership within the Maternity Triage Service.
• Coordinate day-to-day management of maternity triage, overseeing clinical activity, patient flow, staffing, capacity and risk.
• Act as clinical lead for the Birmingham Symptom Specific Obstetric Triage System (BSOTS) and support NHS Maternity Triage specifications.
• Contribute to governance, audit, quality improvement and service transformation while embedding learning from national recommendations.
