Job summary

The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Perinatal Matron to lead maternity and neonatal services rated outstanding by the CQC. The post holder will provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership within the maternity senior team, collaborating with the wider matron group at RUH Bath.

You will advise midwives, nurses and leads to ensure high standards of care, participate in the on-call rota, and support the Head of Midwifery and Neonates.

Qualifications

• Registered with the NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council).
• Post-registration qualification in speciality area.
• Demonstrates ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead Midwifery and Neonatal services in own defined clinical area/specialty to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Provide expert advice to Midwives / Nurses / Leads and other managers to ensure best practice.
• Assume the role of Matron within own area of clinical responsibility and support the Head of Midwifery and Neonates.
• Ensure fundamentals of care are delivered effectively and that competence is developed and maintained.
• Advise and support the Divisional Leadership Team within the perinatal agenda and own practice area.
• Participate in the manager on-call rota and deputise for the Deputy Director of Midwifery.
