University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Maternity Support Worker to join the UHS Maternity Services. You will provide care across pregnancy, birth and postnatal periods, supported by the midwifery team.

We value compassionate, evidence-based care, teamwork, and flexible working arrangements; night and weekend shifts are part of the role and you will help families in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Recent experience as a carer in a healthcare setting.
• Level 3 healthcare qualification (NVQ, Diploma or equivalent).
• Numeracy and literacy at GCSE grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
• Experience in a hospital or community medical setting.
• Confidentiality and data protection awareness.
• Self-motivated, conscientious and aware of personal limits.
• Willing to engage with and learn from peers.

Responsibilities

• Assist and deliver care throughout pregnancy, birth and postnatal periods.
• Provide physical, psychological and emotional care and support.
• Work alongside the midwifery team and advocate for high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Support flexible working and be part of a positive workforce culture.
• Engage with colleagues and patients in a busy maternity service environment.
