Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Maternity Support Worker to join our maternity service. You will work with midwives and a multidisciplinary team providing compassionate care to women and their families, across hospital birth units and associated services.

The role combines clinical care with clerical duties, aims to maintain dignity and privacy, and requires teamwork, clear communication, and a commitment to Trust values.

Qualifications

• Completed care certificate or ability to complete within 3 months.
• GCSE English and Maths or Functional Skills at Level 1 or equivalent.
• Experience in care home or hospital setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the healthcare team with clinical care under supervision.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
• Support midwives and multidisciplinary teams to deliver maternity care.
