Job summary

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is seeking a salaried GP to cover a maternity contract for 5 sessions per week. The role is for 9 months initially, with a possibility of extension. The post reflects BMA terms, and includes mentoring, study leave, a supportive partnership, and full NHS pension.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, carrying out all general duties of a GP in primary care, with focus on chronic disease management and patient care for a diverse population.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention.
• Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
• Awareness of and compliance with practice policies and guidelines (prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health & safety).
• Annual appraisal and revalidation when appropriate; NHSE medical performers list.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all general duties and responsibilities of a GP in primary care.
• Support and care for a diverse patient group as part of a multidisciplinary team.
