Job summary

Whitstable Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover. The post is based at Chestfield Medical Centre and comprises six clinical sessions per week with a January 2027 start.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in a supportive primary care environment. We are a forward-thinking practice with 23 partners and an extensive allied health team,

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with current GMC registration.
• Experience working in primary care settings is desirable.
• Awareness of NHS GP governance, safeguarding and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Undertake surgery consultations, urgent appointments and triage.
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute presentations and same-day care.
• Authorise and process repeat prescriptions and respond to prescription queries.
• Maintain accurate computer records and contribute to audits and quality improvement.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient care.
• Comply with practice policies, data protection and safeguarding procedures.
