Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a detail-oriented Technician at our East Kilbride Concrete Plant, Glasgow, to perform laboratory and field testing on aggregates, concrete, asphalt and soils. You will support quality assurance and control to ensure materials meet required specifications, while working in both lab and outdoor site environments.

The role requires a hands-on technical mindset, with training provided to cover BS/EN/ISO standards and on-site safety practices.

Qualifications

GCSEs in Maths, Science and English (minimum).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data.
Willingness to work safely on a construction site or production depot.
Able to follow procedures and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory and field testing on materials including soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
Ensure testing follows industry standards and project specifications.
Prepare test samples and assess strength, composition, durability and performance of materials.
Record, analyse and report test results accurately and promptly.
Maintain testing equipment and ensure safe operation.
