Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a detail-oriented Technician to perform high-quality testing and analysis of construction materials at our East Kilbride Concrete Plant. The role covers laboratory and site-based testing to ensure materials meet required specifications and standards, supporting QA and compliance across production and construction projects.

This hands-on role suits someone with a technical mindset, able to work comfortably in both lab and outdoor environments, with a UK driving licence

Qualifications

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, Science and English.
Good understanding of basic maths and scientific principles.
Practical, hands-on approach and attention to detail.
Willingness to work safely on construction sites or depots.

Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory and field testing on soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
Ensure testing aligns with industry standards and project specs.
Prepare test samples and assess strength, composition, durability and performance.
Record, analyse and report test results accurately and promptly.
Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and safety.
Assist in collecting material samples from sites, often outdoors.
Support QA processes and participate in audits and inspections.
