Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a detail-oriented Technician at the East Kilbride Concrete Plant, Glasgow. The role involves performing high-quality testing of aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and soils in both lab and field settings to ensure compliance with specifications.

This hands-on position supports QA and control processes across production and construction materials. The ideal candidate will have GCSEs in Maths/Science/English, a practical mindset, and a willingness to work outdoors and on

Qualifications

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, Science, and English (minimum).
Willingness to train toward Construction Materials Testing qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3).
Knowledge of BS/EN/ASTM/ISO testing standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory and field testing on materials including soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
Record, analyse, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and safety compliance.
Assist in collecting material samples from sites or quarries, often outdoors.
Support QA processes by identifying non-conforming materials and reporting findings.
