Job summary

New Flyer is seeking a Materials Supervisor to lead the materials management department. You will supervise coordinators and planners, coordinate with production, procurement and logistics, and implement strategies to optimize flow while maintaining quality.

You will drive inventory accuracy, oversee audits and cycle counts, and contribute to budgeting and cost control efforts across the department.

Qualifications

• Two to four years in warehouse maintenance, shipping, receiving or inventory control.
• One to two years supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Ability to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
• APICS certification or current enrollment is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, planning, and analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee materials team with guidance, training, and performance support.
• Manage daily materials planning, scheduling and inventory control.
• Improve inventory accuracy, reduce waste and enhance material handling.
• Coordinate with production, procurement and logistics for smooth operations.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Ensure safety, quality, and policy compliance in materials handling.
• Audit inventory levels, supervise cycle counts and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with suppliers to address quality and performance.
• Implement JIT strategies and maintain effective inventory practices.
• Assist budgeting and cost control for materials and inventory.
