Comton Group is recruiting a Material Planner in Lurgan, Northern Ireland. This hands-on role supports material planning for a major OEM, ensuring timely orders and deliveries to meet production needs.

Ideal candidates are organised, proactive, and comfortable communicating with suppliers. Training will be provided; previous supply chain experience is not essential, making it suitable for recent graduates or those starting their career in logistics.

Qualifications

• Degree in any discipline, or A-Levels/BTEC combined with relevant work experience.
• Strong interest in supply chain, purchasing or logistics.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence using computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and manage supplier call-offs.
• Contact suppliers to confirm orders, delivery dates and quantities.
• Monitor and maintain accurate purchase order records within the ERP system.
• Chase outstanding and overdue orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Expedite orders where stock levels are low or demand increases.
• Coordinate deliveries with the warehouse team and arrange inbound transport.
