Job summary

Comton Group in Lurgan, Northern Ireland is seeking a Material Planner to support its supply chain and material planning operations. You will order, track and manage materials to meet production needs for a major OEM customer, in a fast-paced hands-on role.

This entry-level friendly position offers full training, progression opportunities and close collaboration with the Supply Chain Buyer/Planner and warehouse team.

Qualifications

• Degree in any discipline, or A-Levels/BTEC with relevant experience.
• Interest in pursuing a career in supply chain, purchasing or logistics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ERP/IT systems.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Confident supplier communication via phone and email.
• Proactive follow-up of tasks and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and manage supplier call-offs.
• Confirm orders, delivery dates and quantities with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchase order records in the ERP system.
• Chase outstanding or overdue orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Expedite orders when stock is low or demand increases.
• Coordinate inbound transport from UK, EU and international suppliers.
• Check shipping and customs documentation between GB and NI.
• Identify and resolve purchase order and invoice queries.
