Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking an experienced Materials Planner to join a Peterborough-based team on a 6-month fixed-term assignment. Hybrid working with an average of 3 days onsite per week, rate of GBP17.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within materials planning, inventory management, production scheduling, or supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience using planning, ERP, or MRP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of inventory management and supply chain planning principles.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review daily materials planning requirements to ensure supply aligns with demand.
• Release and manage purchase orders to maintain product availability.
• Monitor supplier performance and update planning systems with accurate information.
• Manage purchase order amendments and rescheduling activities.
• Provide planning updates to customer order management teams.
• Participate in planning and supply chain review meetings.
• Conduct supply and demand analysis and identify future risks or shortages.
• Monitor inventory levels and planning parameters to ensure optimal stock holdings.
• Investigate planning exceptions and implement corrective actions.
• Support inventory optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate planning records and KPI reporting.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve supply chain performance.
