Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an interim Material Planner for a full-time role based in Peterborough. You will review planning systems, create and release purchase orders, and coordinate with suppliers and plant teams to ensure accurate lead times.

The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, understands ERP/MRP and inventory control, and can analyse demand across a rolling 12 months. The role is hybrid with 3 days in the office and offers a day rate of £180–£200.

Qualifications

• Experience as Material Planner or similar in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Review daily material planning to align supply with demand.
• Create and release purchase orders for materials.
• Monitor supplier order books and planning information.
• Expedite, defer or reschedule orders as needed.
• Provide accurate delivery information to Customer Order Management.
• Participate in cross-functional planning meetings.
• Build relationships with suppliers and plant teams for lead-time management.
• Analyse 12-month rolling demand and supply.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast accuracy.
• Produce reports and KPI analysis to support planning decisions.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
