Job description

Gaming:

Welcome to the world of land-based gaming. At Light & Wonder, it’s all about the games, and our Gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.

Position Summary

As a Material Planner, you’ll play a key role in making sure our warehouse operation has the right inventory, in the right place, at the right time.

You’ll use supply, demand, inventory and operational data to forecast needs, identify trends and flag risks before they affect the business. Working with Warehouse, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales and Finance, you’ll turn complex data into clear recommendations that improve planning and inventory decisions.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, asking the right questions and understanding what the numbers are really telling us. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your area, improve how we forecast and report, and help build a more proactive, data-driven approach to planning.

Working pattern: This role is based at our Chadderton site and requires on-site attendance four days per week, enabling close collaboration with our warehouse and operational teams.

We’re looking for people who share our values:

  • Dare to be Bold - We bring courage to work every day and aim for the extraordinary.
  • Uphold Integrity - We act with accountability, respect, and honesty in everything we do.
  • Never Settle - We continuously challenge ourselves to improve and innovate.
  • Celebrate Perspectives - We value diverse thinking and different viewpoints.
  • Win as a Team - We support one another and succeed together

What You’ll Do

  • Own and maintain demand forecasts, using historical demand, inventory, sales and operational data to anticipate future requirements.
  • Inventory reporting and Ageing inventory analysis.
  • Analyse demand patterns and translate data into clear recommendations that support inventory and operational decision-making.
  • Manage forecast accuracy performance, systematically tracking trends and identifying the root causes of major variances against actual demand.
  • Proactively identify potential stock shortages, excess inventory and emerging demand risks, recommending actions to address them.
  • Develop and maintain planning reports, dashboards and KPIs that give stakeholders clear visibility of demand and inventory performance.
  • Partner with Sales and other stakeholders to understand upcoming demand and challenge assumptions where the data suggests a different outlook.
  • Work closely with Warehouse, Procurement and Supply Chain teams to align inventory plans with supply and operational requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to understand forecast and inventory variances and identify sustainable improvements.
  • Use data to challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, inventory management and operational efficiency.
  • Support the development of more automated, standardised and data-driven planning processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in material planning, inventory planning, supply chain planning, demand planning or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and turn your findings into practical actions.
  • Confidence working with large amounts of data and using it to support decision-making.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using reporting, planning or ERP systems.
  • An understanding of inventory management, forecasting and supply chain principles.
  • A naturally curious mindset with the confidence to question assumptions and investigate what is driving the numbers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and investigate forecast or inventory variances.
  • Great organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities in a busy operational environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain data and recommendations clearly.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and finding better ways of working.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience with Oracle, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable ERP and reporting tools.
  • Experience creating dashboards, KPIs, or automated reports.
  • Knowledge of inventory optimisation, forecasting models, or S&OP processes.

Qualifications

How You’ll Grow

  • Build your expertise across the full order lifecycle, from quote through to customer delivery.
  • Develop your project management, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Take ownership of more complex forecasts and help improve how we plan, report and manage inventory.
