Job summary

Sulzer Birmingham Service Centre is seeking a proactive Goods In/Stores Assistant to join our busy service and repair facility in Birmingham. You will help inspect, receive and control stock, support production teams, and maintain accurate records in our ERP system.

You'll work as part of a skilled team dedicated to high standards of housekeeping, quality and safety, with opportunities for overtime, progression and ongoing learning through Sulzer Learning Pathways.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Goods In, Stores, Warehouse or Logistics role, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Confident using IT systems and technology.
• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP or similar systems would be highly advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Forklift licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspecting incoming goods, materials and equipment
• Checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
• Recording receipts accurately within Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Identifying and escalating shortages, damage or discrepancies
• Ensuring materials are correctly labelled, stored and available for production
• Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records
• Supporting stores, purchasing and workshop teams with day-to-day operational requirements
• Promoting high standards of housekeeping, quality and safety
