Job summary

Sulzer Birmingham Service Centre in Birmingham is seeking a highly organised Goods In Controller to own incoming deliveries, ensuring items are received, inspected and recorded accurately. You will act as the link between suppliers, stores and production teams to keep materials available and inventory records precise.

Based at our 82,000 sq. ft facility, this role requires a methodical, IT‑savvy candidate familiar with ERP systems and a focus on safety and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Experience in Goods In, Stores, Warehouse or Logistics in engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident using IT systems and technology.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP or similar is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Forklift licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspecting incoming goods, materials and equipment.
• Checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Recording receipts accurately within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Identifying and escalating shortages, damage or discrepancies.
• Ensuring materials are correctly labelled, stored and available for production.
• Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records.
• Supporting stores, purchasing and workshop teams with day-to-day operational requirements.
• Promoting high standards of housekeeping, quality and safety.
