Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Yeovil is seeking a Production Controller to coordinate material availability and ensure timely supply for manufacturing and assembly operations. You will work with MRP, purchasing, stores, and planning to maintain smooth production flow and on-time delivery, with a focus on resolving shortages and ensuring BOM accuracy.

Ideal candidates have an HNC or equivalent and strong Excel/SAP MM/PP experience, with a collaborative, proactive approach and attention to quality systems.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable.
• Strong educational background with demonstrated knowledge and competence from relevant work experience.
• High level of integrity and professionalism with a conscientious approach to work.
• Strong team player with a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
• Good understanding of company quality systems and procedures.
• Computer literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
• Practical working knowledge of SAP, particularly within MM and PP modules.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes with an appreciation of MRP principles and effective material supply.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Launch production orders as required by the plan and ensure data transfer.
• Split production orders and close rework and labour-only orders.
• Generate statistics/reports for manufacturing shop and monitor WIP.
• Update production order status and comments; address serial number issues.
• Identify and manage shortages, expedite parts, and review BOM accuracy.
• Liaise with logistics to ensure timely kitting and stock-out mitigation.
• Load outgoing work on the offload rail and resolve related issues.
• Assist in reporting and obtaining information for SAP systems.
