Job summary

Vectis Recruitment is seeking a Production Controller for a leading UK manufacturer. You will develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on demand, inventory and capacity, translating orders and forecasts into actionable production plans.

You'll monitor stock, balance capacity, and adjust schedules in response to changes. Strong ERP/MRP experience and advanced Excel are essential, as is the ability to manage a demanding workload to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production planning role within a complex manufacturing environment.
• ERP/MRP experience.
• Methodical, detail orientated with good time management.
• Advanced Excel skills with a good understanding of MS office functions.
• Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience of managing a demanding workload in accordance with tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, inventory levels & capacity.
• Translate customer orders, forecasts, and programme requirements into achievable production schedules.
• Balance customer demand against available manufacturing capacity, labour, tooling, materials, and equipment.
• Establish production priorities based on customer requirements, contractual commitments, inventory position, and operational constraints.
• Maintain schedule integrity within the ERP/MRP system.
• Identify potential capacity constraints and develop recovery or mitigation plans.
• Regularly review and re-sequence the schedule in response to changes in demand, material availability, machine capacity, quality issues, and operational performance

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining production plans and schedules to ensure customer deadlines are met and monitoring stock levels to prevent bottlenecks.
