Job summary

Branston Ltd in Lincoln is seeking a Materials Controller on a maternity cover FTC. You will ensure ingredients, including raw materials, are available for production on time and in full, with accurate ERP data and strong supplier liaison.

The role emphasises planning, stock control, and continuous improvement to reduce waste and support production teams. You will work closely with Production and Quality to keep systems up to date and audits ready.

Qualifications

• This role requires strong planning and organisational skills with a calm approach to changing priorities.
• Accuracy and attention to detail, especially when managing stock, yields and ERP data.
• Excellent communication; regular liaison with Production, Quality and suppliers.
• A problem-solving approach when stock risks emerge; confident to act and elevate as needed.
• Comfort with process and continuous improvement; improve accuracy and efficiency over time.

Responsibilities

• Purchase Order control: place and control Purchase Orders to support production requirements.
• Supplier liaison: ensure on-time, in-full deliveries; raise issues early and resolve them.
• Material scheduling: align with production needs and forecast changes.
• Prevent stock issues: identify risks, investigate root causes, report clearly, drive solutions.
• Continuous improvement: review requirements and seek smarter ways to improve service.
• Daily/weekly evaluation: review yields and maintain stock count accuracy.
• System accuracy: enter and maintain data in online systems for audit readiness.
