Job summary

Huhtamaki (UK) Limited is seeking an organised Material Controller to support our manufacturing sites in Gosport. You will manage raw materials supply, oversee stock levels, and work closely with production planning to ensure timely material availability.

The role requires experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or materials management.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Good problem‑solving abilities and decisiveness.
• Experience with stock control or warehouse management systems.
• Good numerical and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the supply of raw materials to support paper production in line with production plans.
• Monitor and control inventory using Snap/BPCS and other warehouse management systems.
• Maintain accurate stock records through regular stock checks and inventory reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and material variances.
• Support production planning by preparing shop orders, labels, and production documentation.
• Coordinate inbound deliveries and ensure goods are received, checked, and stored correctly.
• Manage stock levels of key materials, packaging, pallets, labels, and consumables.
• Lead and support team members, ensuring adequate coverage during holidays and absence.
• Deliver training on warehouse systems, automation processes, and work instructions.
• Support month-end inventory processes and variance investigations with relevant departments.
• Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
