Job summary

Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Materials Assistant (Bank) to support the Materials department on an as-and-when-required basis. You will help run daily operations, manage stock, and maintain accurate records while covering for leave or busy periods.

The role requires basic math and English, PC skills including Word/Excel, and strong customer service and communication abilities in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCSE/O level Maths and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency with PC, including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Be an active member of the Materials Department and assist in day-to-day operations.

Materials Assistant (Bank) Thornbury Hospital Bank Shifts Salary: £12.71 per hour

Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Materials Assistant to join their team of staff in the Materials department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• You are an active member of the Materials Department, involved in the day to day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to all internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through the correct order processing and replenishing of pre-approved stock and products for central stores or on behalf of hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files in good order with reference to accuracy, appropriateness and availability.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of GSCE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
