From Automotive to Smart Infrastructure and Medical Equipment, our focus on engineering excellence and streamlined supply keeps us at the forefront of progress.

We’re looking for a driven and dynamic Material Planning Team Leader to contribute to our continued success on a global scale.

The Role

A skilled and dynamic Material Planning Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day activities of our material planning department. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and availability of materials to meet customer requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage inventory levels, plan material requirements, and ensure the efficient flow of materials throughout the supply chain.

Key Tasks

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of material planners to achieve departmental objectives. Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Material Planning: Oversee the material planning process, including managing inventory levels, coordinating material requirements, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to support customer schedules.
  • Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with supplier and sales teams to understand demand forecasts, ensuring material availability aligns with supplier needs and customer demands.
  • Supplier Coordination: Work closely with suppliers/vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and analyse inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock. Work with the team to implement inventory optimisation strategies.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements in material planning processes, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present reports on material usage, inventory levels, and supplier performance. Provide insights and recommendations to UK & I Supply Chain Manager based on data analysis.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the operations, procurement, and Sales teams to ensure alignment of material planning with overall business objectives

The Candidate

We are seeking a service-driven individual with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both verbal and written. We require a strong understanding of Material Planning, Inventory Management or Supply Chain Management. Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook is required, and experience with Dynamics 365 (D365) would be beneficial, though training will also be given.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, physically capable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external customers is a key part of this role.
