Job summary

Alexander Dennis is seeking a Material Planner in Larbert to join the Procurement team. You will manage material availability, coordinates with suppliers, and ensure on-time delivery within quality and cost targets to support production schedules.

The role requires pro-active planning, strong attention to detail, and effective communication with internal stakeholders. Experience with MRP systems is expected; manufacturing experience is a plus.

What You’ll Do

As a Material Planner within the Procurement team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring materials are delivered on time, to the right quality, and within budget, in line with agreed production schedules.

You’ll take ownership of material availability for your assigned parts, proactively managing purchase orders, supplier communications, and MRP actions. By identifying and resolving shortages, delivery discrepancies, and supplier issues early, you’ll help protect production plans and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a pro‑active, detail‑focused planner with a positive mindset and a strong sense of ownership.

You’ll be comfortable working with MRP systems, managing multiple priorities, and communicating clearly with suppliers and internal stakeholders. A tenacious approach, attention to detail, and an appetite for continuous improvement are essential, as is a strong understanding of health & safety standards and quality systems.

Bonus if you have:

• HNC qualification (or equivalent experience)
• CIPS or APICS qualification or working towards one
• Experience in a manufacturing or production‑led supply chain environment
