Job summary

Baltic Recruitment Limited in Birtley, Tyne and Wear is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support logistics and warehouse operations. You will load/unload materials, operate forklifts, assist in shipping/receiving, and maintain a well-organised warehouse with regular stock checks. Two shift patterns available; safety and accuracy are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles is highly desirable.
• Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is a must – Counterbalance Licences
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
• Proven ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of shipments against documentation.
• Operate forklifts (Counterbalance – B1 ) and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Prepare materials for storage or shipment as required. Maintain an organised warehouse environment, ensuring that all materials are stored correctly.
• Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are accurate.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
• Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency in material handling processes.

Shifts – 2 Shifts patterns available:

– Days only – Mon – Thurs 0800 – 1700 & Friday 0800 – 1430

– Days & Lates – Mon – Fri 0530 – 1430 / / Mon – Fri 1430 – 2230
