Job summary

Purflux Filtration Ltd. - Tredegar is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support production through safe, accurate material movement and inventory control.

You will transfer raw materials from the warehouse, operate forklifts and related equipment, perform stock counts, and ensure PPE is worn and safety rules followed during night shifts (Mon-Thu, 21:15–07:00). Rate: £13.72 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in material handling or warehouse operations is preferred.
• Forklift certification is essential; Flexi Truck & Tow Tug certifications are ideal.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for inventory records and material handling.
• Basic math skills for inventory tracking and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Transfer of raw materials and components from the warehouse to the relevant production area, ensuring storage in designated areas and computer transaction for every movement.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and report discrepancies.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery to load/unload materials and move them to storage areas and production lines.
• Inspect materials for damages and ensure items are in good condition before storage or dispatch.
• Work unsupervised in production and stores areas; interact with all levels of personnel.
• Follow safety protocols to minimize accidents and maintain a safe working environment.

Job description

• Key ResponsibilitiesTransfer of raw materials and components from the warehouse to the relevant production area. Always ensuring they are stored in designated areas and a computer transaction is done for every physical movement.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and report any discrepancies or shortages to supervisors.
• Material Movement: Operate forklifts and other machinery to load and unload materials from trucks and move them to and from storage areas and production lines.
• Quality Control: Inspect materials for damages and ensure that all items are in good condition before they are stored or dispatched.
• Must possess the ability to work unsupervised in both production and stores areas.
• Must be a team player with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Material Handlers typically work in warehouse or factory settings, which can be noisy and require standing for long periods. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 21:15pm - 07:00am

Rate : £13.72 per hour
