Job summary

Thorlabs Ltd in Ely is seeking a hands-on Material Handler to support end-to-end value stream operations. The role involves safe handling, stock replenishment, Kanban maintenance and use of ERP systems to track material flow.

You will operate forklifts and pallet trucks, follow time-bound work, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure accurate stock control and timely loading/unloading of goods.

Qualifications

• Hands-on approach in manufacturing.
• Follow time-bound Standard Work.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving for customer service.
• Have a valid Counterbalance Truck certificate.
• Experience with ERP and electronic workflows.
• Work well in a rotating task environment.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow all site HSE guidelines.
• Carry out multiple material flow processes including supermarkets, stock replenishment, Kanban and waste processing.
• Operate internal machinery to replenish supermarket stock.
• Use material handling methods such as Forklifts and pallet trucks.
• Follow electronic workflows to enable material flow, stock control and Kanban maintenance.
• Operate the goods in process including ERP & Kanban processes.
• Load/unload various loads from vehicles.
