Job summary

Navantia UK is seeking a proactive Material Controller to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability, enabling production and operations to run smoothly. The role contributes to efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement in a technical, collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will work primarily in-office with cross-functional interaction, occasional travel, and adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Material Control, Inventory Management, Stores, Logistics, or Warehouse Operations.
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control the flow of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP and inventory management systems.
• Conduct regular stock counts and audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Work closely with Procurement, Production, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Implement and improve inventory control processes to minimise waste and prevent stock shortages.
• Monitor material consumption and provide reports and insights to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Support forecasting activities and inventory optimisation initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation for material receipts, transfers, and stock issues.
