Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment is seeking a Material Controller for a well-established manufacturing business in Kent. This hands-on position ensures materials move smoothly from goods-in through to production, maintaining stock accuracy and supporting manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in stock control, goods-in inspections, and the ability to follow procedures; SAP knowledge would be advantageous.

• Experience in manufacturing, electronics, stores or warehouse environments.
• Able to follow processes accurately and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Kitting and issuing materials for production orders
• Identifying, reporting and helping resolve material shortages
• Managing and replenishing Kanban systems
• Carrying out goods-in inspections and quality checks
• Controlling safety-critical components in line with company procedures
• Replenishing production consumables
• Completing routine stock checks and stocktaking activities
• Maintaining accurate inventory records
• Liaising with purchasing and production teams to ensure smooth material flow
• Following company policies, procedures and quality standards

About the Role

Morgan Jones is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful manufacturing business seeking a proactive and organised Material Controller to join their team. This is a hands-on role that will play an important part in ensuring materials and components move efficiently from goods-in through to production. Working closely with purchasing and production teams, you will help maintain stock accuracy, support manufacturing operations and ensure materials are available when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Kitting and issuing materials for production orders
• Identifying, reporting and helping resolve material shortages
• Managing and replenishing Kanban systems
• Carrying out goods-in inspections and quality checks
• Controlling safety-critical components in line with company procedures
• Replenishing production consumables

What We're Looking For

• Well-organised with excellent attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience within manufacturing, electronics, stores or warehouse environments
• Strong communication skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to follow processes and procedures accurately
• Comfortable undertaking manual handling duties
• SAP knowledge would be advantageous
